Built on Generations of Hard Work
Merner's didn't start in Houston. Our story began more than 50 years ago in Winnipeg, Manitoba, where painting and decorating became part of our family's livelihood.
The trade was passed down through generations, starting with our grandfather and built around a simple standard: work hard, take pride in the details, and leave every home better than you found it.
Today, that same foundation has expanded south.
From Winnipeg to Houston
What began as a family painting tradition in Winnipeg has grown into Merner's Painting & Decorating in Houston, Texas.
The location may have changed, the equipment has gotten better, and the business has evolved, but the mentality hasn't.
We believe your name means something when you put it on a company. That's why every project is approached with the same work ethic that built this business generations ago.
Over 50 years of family experience.
Two countries.
One standard.
Why Fitness Is Part of Our Culture
You'll probably notice something a little different about us: we promote fitness just as much as we promote craftsmanship.
There's a reason for that.
Painting and contracting are physical trades. We're climbing ladders, carrying equipment, moving materials, sanding, spraying, bending, kneeling, reaching and staying on our feet for hours at a time.
This job demands endurance. It demands discipline. And it demands consistency.
Those happen to be the exact same qualities required in fitness.
Strong Body. Strong Mind. Strong Work.
To us, training isn't just about looking good. It reinforces the mentality we bring onto every job site:
- 01Show up even when you don't feel like it.
- 02Do the repetitive work other people skip.
- 03Pay attention to the small details.
- 04Stay disciplined when nobody is watching.
- 05Finish what you started.
Whether you're building a physique, building a business, or transforming someone's home, the principle is pretty much the same:
Results come from consistency.
More Than a Painting Company
Merner's Painting & Decorating represents three generations of craftsmanship combined with a new generation of ambition.
We respect where we came from. We're proud of what we're building in Houston. And we're committed to raising the standard of what homeowners should expect from a contractor, from communication and professionalism to preparation, craftsmanship and the final walkthrough.
Winnipeg roots.
Houston growth.
50+ years in the trade.
